About the Event
The Passport to Fishing program will be held on August 5th from 8-10 am at Miami Whitewater Forest in Harrison, Ohio. The event is being co-hosted by the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Great Parks of Hamilton County. This is a free event that will be open to kids between the age of 5 and 17 years old. Registration and a Great Parks motor vehicle permit are required to participate the day of the event.
The goal of the Passport to Fishing program is to provide skills, knowledge and information to participants so that children are able to start fishing in their own town or community. This program uses a hands on approach established by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife and has a strong conservation message.
The Passport to Fishing program will last two hours and consists of a total of four different stations. Participants will rotate as a group around to each station every thirty minutes. Participants will visit four stations covering the following topics...
Morning refreshments will be available during check-in and door prizes will be given away to conclude the event.
**Please plan to arrive prior to 8 am for check in. Check-in will start at 7:30 am.

- Fish Habitat and Fish Handling
- Rigging and Knot Tying

Registration is required and will be accepted until July 27th or until all spaces are filled.
Participants 17 years and under must be accompanied by an adult. When you access the registration page you will be asked to input information for the parent/guardian that will accompany the participant the day of the event. Once parent/guardian information has been entered you will be asked for the name and the age of the child participating. Please complete a registration form for each child that is planning to participate. Please no more than four children per one adult/guardian.

Kids' Mystery Fish Challenge
Interested in hanging out in the park for a little longer and putting your newly learned skills to the test? Join the Great Parks of Hamilton County after the Passport to Fishing program for their Kids' Mystery Fish Challenge.
Catch the mystery fish! Prizes are awarded in three age groups to each kid who weighs in a fish closest to the mystery weight. Every kid who catches a fish will receive a trophy. Any species can be weighed, and live bait is permitted. Registration begins at one hour before the event.
